We were out in the country collecting rocks when horses raced by. Then I noticed a mama horse and her colt watching me. She was skittish and wouldn’t let me get too close. Using a telephoto lens, I was able to capture a few shots. These are country horses.

There is something about the back roads that curve through the hills and over the creeks. Here, in the dawn, the fog was lifting as the morning sun rose over the hills. The landscape was still wet from the night’s rain. Everything felt untouched.
