In the city of Topeka, Kansas, thunderstorms brewed over the busy streets and stores. Looking west and northwest.
Looking east. One young couple had stopped to take pictures with their cell phone. Many people ignored the thunderstorms building to a pitch and went about their business. In Kansas, thunderstorms and severe storms are common place as it is part of Tornado Alley. Even when tornado sirens blast, I have seen people driving about–and they were not the storm chasers or watchers. It is like: “Excuse me, I have to get to the store for milk and that storm will not stop me!”

Kansas skies truly are an ever-changing canvas of celestial art.
We seem to watch the wild storms coming too, and don’t quite make the connect this could be serious - until it turns green and then we are running towards our basements.
Danton, I really, really liked what you had written: “Kansas skies truly are an ever-changing canvas of celestial art.” Beautiful!
Bo, the last time I had seen green skies was in Missouri during a tornado outbreak. We were traveling to Kansas at that time. The weather was severe from Missouri into Kansas. It was a freaky and scary day! I don’t like basements. But I’ll head into the basement under the house with spiders if the tornado siren blares.
