The other day while softly raining, I tried photographing raindrop puddles on a old concrete sidewalk with a few pebbles scattered about. This was my first time trying to capture puddles in the rain.
It’s not easy catching the rain or the splashes in the puddles. What is the best angle? The rain wasn’t heavy, just a few splats.
I’ve been experimenting with photographing raindrop puddles. What makes a great looking photograph of a puddle with raindrops? What angle? Above? To the side? How close? How far away? What kind of puddle? What makes a puddle pretty? A puddle on concrete? A puddle on rocks or gravel? A puddle on the road? I really don’t have any idea. Anyone have any suggestions? Since we are out of the snow and now into rain, I’ll keep trying to find the perfect raindrop puddle or two or three to photograph.

Hi uphilldowndale. Yep, I’ve been close to doing that for sure. But I have to keep the camera dry.
