The fire is ignited by pulling flaming grass with a garden rake around the field.
The fires quickly burn the dry grass without harming the large trees.
A little wind kicks up speeding the fire along.
Fires hit the fallen cedars causing flames to shoot out high into the sky. Later the branches will be cut off and the cedar trunks, now dry wood, will be turned into furniture.
The young man is being taught the ways of the Prairie Fire.
Every job requires supervision.
As the grass dissappears treasures are found - leg of calf for the dog…
and skull of opossum for the lady…
As the daytime fires end, the sun begins to set.
The night burn will be in my next post.
