As the sun slid beyond the horizon, the night burn on the prairie began.

The night darkened, the fires increased and brightened under a full rising moon.

In the distance, coyotes could be heard yip-yipping as the ring of fires spread.

Then all was quiet except for the sound of crackling and popping of the fires across the prairie hills.

We all stopped and watched as the flames danced upon the surreal landscape under the glow of the moon.

The night was capped sitting around a campfire drinking campfire coffee and sharing stories. Preston and I had truly enjoyed ourselves. We appreciated all the hard work, careful planning, and generosity by the Brackenbury’s providing us a memorable and remarkable prairie burn experience at Cowboy Way Ranch and Vacation.
This concludes the Kansas Prairie Burn Series at the Cowboy Way Ranch and Vacation. Thank you to all the viewers who have stopped by to share our journey. Coming soon, a Kansas Prairie Burn video by Preston.

Fantastic fire photos. The silhouette one is really awesome.
Very intense images in some of those shots. Well done.
Excellent photography! It is almost like you are there when viewing all of the photographs. They are so sharp and clear taken at night. This should interest “Sunflower Journeys”. This would make a great topic for their show. Thanks.
Thank you very much, everyone, for your comments and stopping by to view our prairie burn photographs.
