Day Shot~Swirling Flag

As a photographer, I usually notice something during the day that I think would make an interesting photo. That fleeting moment that comes and goes in the course of the day. Yesterday, while Preston and I were walking the dogs, we noticed an elderly woman leaning over a car with a BB gun aimed up at the trees. I asked her what was she shooting at and she replied, “Squirrels.” I had wished I had my camera then… before she had noticed us and our pack of dogs. I think I’m going to make more of an effort to capture a day shot aside from the photo shoots. It probably won’t be every day because of Life taking over. But I will keep on my toes and my awareness on alert for that possible day shot. No telling what will be the subjects of ah for day shots to come.

Today, it was the swirling flag in a flowering Bradford pear tree across the street. I kneeled beneath the tree just hoping the wind would spin the swirling flag and I’d get a decent shot. The light, although behind clouds, was a bit bright backlighting the tree. I like this capture, though.

Interesting view. In an attempt to have my camera every ready at every moment,
it is those unusual shots that we miss. Good one!
