Late last night and into early morning hours, a cool front started pushing through bringing high winds, lightning, and tornado threats. In southeastern Kansas, tornado sirens blared in various towns.
Today, the stormy clouds piled far beyond the horizon with bursts of sunshine in between along with 36 miles per hour wind gusts from the west. The Kansas Flint Hills are brilliant green after the controlled burning as the trees are in early budding. The landscape is breathtaking under the rolling forever-clouded skies. These scenes are about three miles from where we live.
