The setting sun brought out so much more depth in all we saw. Not really sure what these wheel type objects are or what they are used for, but such are many scenes in Kansas.

We took this winding dirt road to get to the prairies. It is an upward road going through the Kansas trees located near the creeks.

Yet another prairie. As the skies darkened the sinking sun really highlighted the area. This rich green grass comes up quickly after the field has been burned of its dry tall brown grass. They say the cattle fatten up really good on it.
I’ve still more pictures of this sunset to put up in my next post. However, the other day I got a good picture of a Red Tail Hawk flying with a snake in its talons. I’ll put that shot up later.

What beautiful photos. Makes me want to go to Kansas! Absolutely stunning!
Looks like Ireland. Beautiful color!
I never realized how beautiful Kansas is until I started looking at your photos here.
It is beautiful here Carol, but takes some getting use to. The land is rugged and the weather is harsh. We have bitter winters and there is nothing to stop the winds. We have very powerful winds. In western Kansas they have those tall windmills to generate electricity. The windmills you see in our pictures are for pumping water into tanks for the cows to drink. It is an interesting land.
Paul on our blog-roll is Uphilldowndale at http://uphilldowndale.wordpress.com/. She takes pictures of her landscape as well in England. It does look alot like Kansas.
Robin, Kansas as grown on us. Just like any place else, Kansas has its less than beautiful. We have over the years learned to love it here and see mainly the beautiful in everything and try to portray that in photos. Thanks for the comment.
