Living in rural Kansas, I can go in any direction and see various snapshots of farms. Many farms are a blend of then and now. The old buildings still useable in some way if they aren’t crumbled upon the ground. Old barns filled with farm equipment or hay or a place where cows shelter. Barn swallows fly in and out living their bird lives without thought to what is old or not. Either man or nature uses the rustic outbuildings and silos as time continues swiftly on.
I stand there, an old stone barn that is used by cows and barn swallows behind me, and wondered what the little stone and wooden outbuilding had been used for as bumblebees buzz around me and storm clouds gather in the sky. Only the winds could be heard in its rustling of the tree leaves as the trees silently watched me. A farm snapshot that is a testament of times blended into the present subtly moving forward almost without notice.

I love old barns.
Lovely photo, and prose to go with it.
I love old barns too and take many photos of them. The old barns are an art in themselves. Thank you, Robin, for your comments and stopping by.
