Double Arch Stone Bridge

We had visited little townships off the beaten path, and then veered off into the Marion County countryside to find a stone bridge. Off of a dirt road, past a house, and among the fields was a double arch stone bridge in excellent condition. It was blocked off so as not to be driven on. I was amazed to find a beautiful stone bridge like this hidden away.

What a lovely and carefully designed bridge! It is amazing how much care went into the building of things long ago. I love the way it has weathered.

I’ve seen these bridges torn down, and such a shame. I loved the way it has weathered too. Thanks, Bo, for commenting and stopping by. :)
