So many black cows and they are so hard to photograph and make interesting. I gave it my best shot.

It is surreal, isn’t it? I love that line of hills as it blends into the sky.

    Moooo!

I was thinking what Burstmode wrote — the line of the hills in the background is very nice.

    Preston,

If I may, it looks like you exposed for the landscape and as a result the cow is way underexposed. This is more of a landscape with cow image than a cow with landscape image of you know what I mean. The landscape looks great here but the cow looks a bit like a cutout to me. Another solution is two take two images – one exposed for the cow and the other for the background and combine them.

Yep, it’s definitely a black cow. It looks like you had the sun in your face when you shot this image and the effect is that the cow pops out of the image. It looks almost spectacular to me. As I write these lines, I realize that I haven’t tried taking photos of cows. You are probably right when you say that they are difficult subjects and they won’t take any directions either when/if asked to mo(o)ve. By the way, I like the landscape. It looks so beautiful to me.
