Across from the Railroad Tracks at St. Marys, Kansas, I noticed the wavy reflections in the storefront window. I snapped a few photos catching Preston and I in the distorted reflections. In this autumn time, Preston and I have been making changes in our diet. We have been re-educating ourselves in the way we eat and what we eat. We eat a lot less, healthier, and much less processed foods; therefore, we’ve been losing weight. Over the past years, we both had packed on some pounds. We enjoy hiking and photography together, and the packed pounds were burdensome. So in our autumn years, we are going to be leaner and healthier. I imagine that 2010 will bring even more changes as we revolutionize our lifestyle and reflections. From time to time, you may see some up-front, true portrayals of us (not reflected in a wavy glass window); especially after we break out of our cocoons like butterflies sometime in the springtime.
With this photo, I digitally posterized and painted it, and then added a vignette for a Saturday Special.

This is a really interesting photo. I can get that you like Preston in the shot
, but it might be interesting to crop him so there is only one focal point – the photographer – and with that wild and crazy background. A great combination. The techniques you used work really well with this, don’t they?
Hi Bo. LOL Well, Preston is part of the package in this post of the autumn reflections, and kind of a symbolic reflection of all we’ve been through for almost 31 years and all we share together. I liked that he was smiling at me as I was shooting the photo… even though the reflections of us are distorted….in which in a way was neat. I enjoyed playing with this wavy photo and gave myself full creative reign. Thanks, Bo!
I like the photo shop thing you did to the photo aver the photo.
I realised that this is a photo/poster one can spend much time looking at. The first thing that attracted my eyes was… the background and then I discovered you and Preston and the car and the other colors. That’s what I call an interesting effect and it works well, at least in my opinion.
Love the processing here, Anna. Produces a very interesting and pleasing artsy effect. nice work.
Thank you, Maggie!
Staffan, it is certainly a different way of seeing things. That is a stone yard of huge stone blocks in the background. Thanks!
Ed, I enjoy artsy and I’m always experimenting. Thanks!
