Abandoned

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

For the past 18 months, I have photographed many abandoned buildings, houses, farms, farm equipment, cars, trucks, remnants of towns, and dreams. Some things I had photographed are gone now, as they were torn down, razed, and returned to dirt. In the Abandoned video, there are photographs of abandoned things combined with mini movie clips by Preston. I had chosen only a small collection out of the large amount of abandoned buildings, houses, so on that I have photographed, and there are some photos that I haven’t posted that are in the video. I tend to be a recorder photographer of the past, of what has been abandoned, as I appreciate history, life lived, dreams dreamed, memories, humanity, nature along with the cycle of birth and death.

Watch the Abandoned video and see what you think and feel as to: What does abandoned mean to you?

One Fine Day~Remix

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

This is a shorter version of my original One Fine Day slide-show video presentation of summer photographs. The first One Fine Day is a fast, upbeat tempo in bright music. This remix has a slower feel, and another version of the same music in an ah-ha flow.

Enjoy!

Hot Rod Power Tour 2008~Driving Through Wamego, Kansas

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

The Hot Rod Power Tour consisting of a multitude of various vehicles (cars, trucks, and others you’d have to see to believe) flowed through Wamego, Kansas like a never-ending parade. It was stated that there were 3,500 participants.

They had left Heartland Park, Topeka, Kansas early morning June 10th on Interstate 70 and then turned north on Highway 99, driving through Wamego, Kansas headed for Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Hot Rod Power Tour was amazing to see; with vehicles glinting in the hot, morning sun miles and miles inching through the little city intermingled with city and business traffic. There were crowds of people and scores of cameras. Many from the Hot Rod Power Tour were snapping shots and videos. I’ve been to classic car shows before, but I’ve never seen a show of so many moving vehicles in a diverse assortment of ages, styles, and repairs as with the Hot Rod Power Tour.

I had taken 500 photographs and got a little sunburn on my face. This short video features some of my selected photographs in a slide show set to music. I hope you enjoy the video!

Passage of Time

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

This video, Passage of Time, is dedicated to Katchen, our beloved four-legged friend and cat, who passed and crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Katchen was 18 years old and is survived by her son, Mr. Grey. A daughter that died at birth, and her sons Spunky, Buggy, and Bandit, and her mate LongJohns crossed the Rainbow Bridge before her, and surely all were there to meet her.

For the video, Passage of Time, I chose recent photographs I had taken representing spring because it was in the spring when we had moved to Kansas. It was a time of new beginnings, hopes, dreams, and youth. One of the reasons we chose to live in Kansas was because of the awesome landscapes and skies that seemed to go on forever. And back then was when we had rescued a little striped kitten. Her name, Katchen, was German for little kitten.

Katchen represents all the four-legged friends~beloved pets of the past that lovingly shared our lives, and the 18 years we have lived in Kansas. A Passage of Time of birth, death, grief, laughter, growing up, growing older, sunrises, sunsets, and the cycle of Life.

We miss you, dear Katchen. Sweet pudgy little kitten mama, you will always be in our hearts.

May you enjoy this little video of Kansas photography set to Native American music.
