The contraption attached to the tractor is a grass cutter, lawnmower thing. I believe they call the contraption a Bushhog.

Cowboy Way Ranch and Vacation - Westmoreland, Kansas

Grain Elevators Abstract

The grain elevators in the wee town of Delavan loomed as rusted ghosts in the evening sun. The wind whooshed around the empty towers and buildings as if saying “All gone. All forgotten.” Water run-off pinged in hallow drips inside one elevator.

Hay Truck

These flatbed trucks have a huge looking toothpick thing hooked to some hydraulic lift. When not in use the toothpick thing sits straight up in the back of the truck like a missile.
