Tornado Damage at Manhattan, Kansas

A tornado struck Manhattan, Kansas June 11, 2008 at 11:00 PM. Entering west of the city, it went on a wild destruction spree through a neighborhood exploding houses and splintering trees, and then on to businesses across Seth Child’s Road destroying Little Apple Toyota Honda, flattening Waters True Value Hardware store, careened into another neighborhood, [...]

Front Porch Views & Window

I thought this was a very colorful porch with the flag flapping in the wind and the hanging mosaic. The mosaic was what caught my eye at first, as I am a mosaic artist. Usually I wouldn’t hang something that pretty and fragile out in the Kansas wind. However, I enjoyed this front porch view.

This monkey seems to be contemplating a serious situation.

Such a lovely Flamingo.

This Ostrich kept walking back and forth just looking at me.  She seemed so lovely for such a huge awkward bird.

The color is just beautiful.

For there to be beauty, there must be ugly.

One doesn’t [...]

Buffalo Ranch

It was a bit of a surprise to see buffalo in this particular area, which is by a busy four-lane highway and across from the Manhattan, Kansas airport. I’ve seen herds of buffalo on ranches in the Kansas prairies before but not like this.
There was a sign at the front of the ranch facing the [...]

Buffalo Roast ~ $7.00 a Pound ~

Across from the Manhattan Kansas airport is a Buffalo farm.  We nearly slid off into the ditch trying to pull over to get a shot and then we saw the white van.  The van traveled a dirt road getting pretty darn close to the buffalo, so we took the road as well.  A sign on [...]
