Kansas in Depth

Just how many miles can one see across the Kansas Prairies?  It is so hard to capture depth in a picture, but from this vantage point I suppose one could see 20 to 30 miles into the distance.

Low Creek Bridge

When it floods from heavy rains, the creek flows over the low concrete roadway. Normally, when the creek is low, the water flows under the roadway through several tubes. Last week when it flooded, the raging water broke apart the roadway, dismantling into several pieces. No telling when the Low Creek Bridge will be fixed.

The temperature reached 95 degrees today and there was a mild breeze as I took this picture.  Seemed not so long ago this very ground was covered in snow and ice as north winds blew unforgivingly.  I have learned to respect the Kansas weather.  Kansas produces breath taking beauty no matter the time of year.
